Response to 'May Allah bless you'

((وَفِيكَبَارَكَاللَّهُ)).

Transliteration

Wa feeka barakallahu.

Translation

And may Allah bless you too. This is the reciprocal response when someone supplicates for Allah's blessings upon you.

Context

When someone blesses you, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to respond with a similar blessing. This hadith shows the Prophet's ﷺ teaching through the example of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who would respond to the supplications of those who received the distributed meat.

Benefit

Responding with kindness and a reciprocal prayer maintains good relations and ensures your own reward is preserved, reflecting the beautiful etiquette taught by the Prophet ﷺ.

There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things competent. Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the greatest. And there is no might nor power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. My Lord, forgive me.
