اللَّهُمَّاهْدِنِيسَدَدًا

Transliteration

Allahumma ihdini sadadan

Translation

O Allah, guide me to the right course and grant me correctness.

Context

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this concise yet comprehensive dua to Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) when he asked for guidance. It is a prayer for divine direction in all matters, especially when preparing for the immense act of standing before Allah in prayer.

Benefit

This supplication seeks Allah's perfect guidance, ensuring one's actions and intentions are aligned with His pleasure, particularly vital when engaging in worship.

There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the things that earn Your mercy, and the resolve to seek Your forgiveness, and safety from every sin, and security from every wrongdoing. Do not leave me with a sin except that You forgive it, nor any worry except that You relieve it, nor any need that is pleasing to You except that You fulfill it, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
