Prophet's Dua for a Good Ending

Source: Sunan al-Tirmidhi 3533

اللَّهُمَّتَوَفَّنِيمُسْلِمًاوَأَلْحِقْنِيبِالصَّالِحِينَ

Transliteration

Allahumma tawaffani musliman wa alhiqni bis-salihin

Translation

O Allah, cause me to die as a Muslim and join me with the righteous.

Context

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this comprehensive dua to a companion, asking Allah to grant him death in a state of Islam and to be resurrected among the righteous.

Benefit

This supplication encapsulates a Muslim's ultimate hope: to live and die in submission to Allah, and to be counted among His most virtuous servants in the hereafter.

Can be recited at any time, especially when reflecting on life and the hereafter.
