Dua for Protection from the Evil Eye

اللَّهُمَّأَذْهِبِالْبَاسَ،رَبَّالنَّاسِ،اشْفِأَنْتَالشَّافِي،لاَشِفَاءَإِلاَّشِفَاؤُكَ،شِفَاءًلاَيُغَادِرُسَقَمًا

Transliteration

Allahumma adh-hibil-bas, Rabb an-nas, ishfi anta ash-shafi, la shifaa illa shifaa'uka, shifaa'an la yughadiru saqaman

Translation

O Allah, remove the harm, Lord of mankind. Heal, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness.

Context

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this supplication to the Companion Uthman ibn Abi al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) when he complained of pain in his body. He instructed him to place his hand on the painful spot and recite this dua.

Benefit

This dua seeks Allah's direct intervention to remove physical ailments and grant complete recovery, acknowledging Him as the sole source of healing.

When to Recite

Recited when experiencing pain or illness, or when seeking general protection from harm.

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I keep Your covenant and my pledge to You as best I can. I take refuge in You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin — so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.

Glory is to Him who has subjected this to us, and we ourselves were not capable. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.
