Dhikr during Ruku' (Bowing) — Subbuhun Quddusun Rabbul Malaikati War Ruh

((سُبُّوُحٌ،قُدُّوسٌ،رَبُّالمَلاَئِكَةِوَالرُّوحِ)).

Transliteration

Subbuhun, Quddusun, Rabbul-malaikati war-Ruh.

Translation

You are Perfect, Holy, Lord of the angels and the Rooh (Gabriel).

Context

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught his companions to recite this glorification of Allah during their bowing (ruku') in prayer. It is a profound statement of Allah's absolute perfection and sovereignty over all creation, including the highest angels.

Benefit

Reciting this during ruku' elevates the prayer by focusing on Allah's ultimate holiness and His role as the sustainer of all existence. It helps foster humility and awe in the worshipper.

There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs sovereignty and praise, and He is over all things competent. Glory be to Allah, and praise be to Allah, and there is no god but Allah, and Allah is the greatest. And there is no might nor power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. My Lord, forgive me.

There is no god but Allah, the Forbearing, the Generous. Glory be to Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the things that earn Your mercy, and the resolve to seek Your forgiveness, and safety from every sin, and security from every wrongdoing. Do not leave me with a sin except that You forgive it, nor any worry except that You relieve it, nor any need that is pleasing to You except that You fulfill it, O Most Merciful of the merciful.
