Spreading Salam and Feeding the Poor

وَعَنْعَبْدِاللَّهِبْنِعُمَرَرَضِيَاللَّهُعَنْهُمَا:أنَّرَجُلاًسَأَلَالنَّبِيَّصلىاللهعليهوسلمأيُّالْإِسْلاَمِخَيْرٌقَالَ:((تُطْعِمُالطَّعَامَ،وَتَقْرأُالسَّلاَمَعَلَىمَنْعَرَفْتَوَمَنْلَمْتَعْرِفْ)).

Transliteration
‘An ‘Abdillāhi bni ‘Amrin (radhiAllahu ‘anhuma): Anna rajulan sa’alan Nabiyya (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam): Ayyul Islāmi khayrun? Qāla: ‘Tuṭ‘im-u ṭ-ṭa‘āma, wa taqra’u s-salāma ‘alā man ‘arafta wa man lam ta‘rif.’
Translation
A man asked the Prophet ﷺ, 'Which aspect of Islam is best?' He ﷺ replied, 'You should feed (the poor) and greet everyone, both those you know and those you do not know.'
Context
The Prophet ﷺ was asked about the best deeds in Islam. He highlighted two fundamental acts of kindness: providing food for those in need and extending the greeting of peace to all people, regardless of familiarity. This emphasizes both compassion and inclusive community building.
