Translation
We have reached the evening and at this very time the whole kingdom belongs to Allah. Praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner; to Him belongs the kingdom and all praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.
Context
This profound remembrance, transmitted through the prophetic tradition, serves as a declaration of Allah's absolute sovereignty as the day transitions into night. By affirming that 'the whole kingdom belongs to Allah,' the reciter acknowledges divine dominion over all creation. It is a powerful affirmation of pure monotheism (Tawhid), asserting that all praise and dominion are due to Allah alone, without any partners, and that He is omnipotent over all things, as documented in Sahih Muslim 2723.
Benefit
Reciting this dua fosters a deep sense of reliance upon Allah, cultivating humility and gratitude within the believer. It acts as a spiritual anchor, reinforcing faith and trust in divine providence by reminding one of Allah's unique right to worship and His boundless power.
When to Recite
It should be recited in the evening.
