Dua for Protection When Going to Sleep

اللَّهُمَّإِنِّيأَسْلَمْتُنَفْسِيإِلَيْكَ،وَفَوَّضْتُأَمْرِيإِلَيْكَ،وَوَجَّهْتُوَجْهِيإِلَيْكَ،وَأَلْجَأْتُظَهْرِيإِلَيْكَ،رَغْبَةًوَرَهْبَةًإِلَيْكَ،لاَمَلْجَأَوَلاَمَنْجَامِنْكَإِلاَّإِلَيْكَ،آمَنْتُبِكِتَابِكَالَّذِيأَنْزَلْتَ،وَبِنَبِيِّكَالَّذِيأَرْسَلْتَ.

Transliteration
Allahumma inni aslamtu nafsi ilaika, wa fawwadtu amri ilaika, wa wajjahtu wajhi ilaika, wa alja'tu zahri ilaika, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika, la malja'a wa la manja minka illa ilaika. Amantu bikitabika alladhi anzalta, wa binabiyyika alladhi arsalta.
Translation
O Allah, I have submitted myself to You, entrusted my affairs to You, turned my face towards You, and clung to You for support, hoping in You and fearing You. There is no refuge or safety from You except with You. I believe in the Book You revealed and the Prophet You sent.
Context
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this comprehensive supplication to his companion Al-Bara' ibn Azib (may Allah be pleased with him) to recite before sleeping. It encapsulates complete reliance on Allah for protection and guidance throughout the night.
Benefit
Reciting this dua affirms total submission to Allah, seeking His ultimate protection and refuge, which brings peace of mind and security during sleep.
