اللَّهُمَّاهْدِنِيسَدَادًا

Transliteration

Allahumma ihdini sadādan

Translation

O Allah, guide me to what is right and direct me to the truth.

Context

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this concise supplication to his companions. He would say it when he intended to stand for prayer, seeking Allah's perfect guidance for his actions and words during the salah.

Benefit

This dua seeks Allah's guidance to perform the prayer correctly, aligning one's intentions and actions with what is pleasing to Him, ensuring the prayer is accepted.

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيهِمَا وَعَافِنِي فِيهِمَا وَاهْدِنِي لِمَا اخْتُلِفَ فِيهِ مِنَ الْحَقِّ بِإِذْنِكَ إِنَّكَ تَهْدِي مَنْ تَشَاءُ إِلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ

O Allah, guide me in them (i.e. the two prayers) and grant me well-being in them, and guide me to what is disputed of the truth by Your permission. Indeed, You guide whomever You will to a straight path.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِعِزَّتِكَ الَّتِي لاَ تَرْتَدُّ، أَنْ تُضِلَّنِي، أَنْتَ الْأَرْضُ وَالسَّمَوَاتُ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ، أَسْأَلُكَ بِكُلِّ اسْمٍ هُوَ لَكَ سَمَّيْتَ بِهِ نَفْسَكَ، أَوْ أَنْزَلْتَهُ فِي كِتَابِكَ، أَوْ عَلَّمْتَهُ أَحَدًا مِنْ خَلْقِكَ، أَوْ اسْتَأْثَرْتَ بِهِ فِي عِلْمِ الْغَيْبِ عِنْدَكَ، أَنْ تَجْعَلَ الْقُرْآنَ رَبِيعَ قَلْبِي، وَنُورَ صَدْرِي، وَجِلَاءَ حُزْنِي، وَذَهَابَ هَمِّي.

O Allah, I seek refuge in Your might, which never wanes, that You lead me astray. You are the Lord of the heavens and the earth and all that is within them. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or kept to Yourself in the knowledge of the unseen which You possess, that You make the Quran the springtime of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my worries.

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيهِمْ، وَسَدِّدْنِي، وَاذْكُرْ هُدَاكَ، وَسَدَادَكَ، وَعَظِّمْ نِعْمَتَكَ عَلَيَّ، إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ، فَإِنَّهُ لَا يَمْلِكُ فَضْلَكَ أَحَدٌ غَيْرُكَ.

O Allah, guide me within them (my prayers) and make me firm and direct me. Remind me of Your guidance and Your directedness, and magnify Your blessings upon me. Indeed, I ask You of Your bounty, for none can possess Your bounty except You.
