Evening Dua for Protection from Debt

اللَّهُمَّاكْفِنِيبِحَلاَلِكَعَنْحَرَامِكَ،وَأَغْنِنِيبِفَضْلِكَعَمَّنْسِوَاكَ

Transliteration

Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka

Translation

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful, and enrich me by Your grace, so that I shall not need need of anyone other than You.

Context

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to his uncle Al-Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) to recite when asking Allah for his needs. It is a comprehensive supplication for seeking lawful sustenance and independence from others.

Benefit

This dua seeks Allah's blessing to provide enough lawful means to avoid unlawful ones, and to grant self-sufficiency through His bounty, freeing one from reliance on creation.

When to Recite

After Asr prayer or at any time during the evening.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

O Allah, I take refuge in You from worry and grief, from helplessness and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, and from being overcome by debt and overpowered by men.

Evening — Allahumma Anta Rabbi

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I keep Your covenant and promise as best I can.

Evening Remembrance — Amsayna wa Amsal-Mulku Lillah

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

We have reached the evening and at this very time the whole kingdom belongs to Allah. Praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner; to Him belongs the kingdom and all praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.

Morning — Pleased with Allah, Islam, and Muhammad ﷺ

رَضِيتُ بِاللَّهِ رَبًّا، وَبِالْإِسْلَامِ دِينًا، وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَبِيًّا

I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad ﷺ as my Prophet.

The Master of Seeking Forgiveness (Sayyid al-Istighfar)

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي، لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ، أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا صَنَعْتُ، أَبُوءُ لَكَ بِنِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَأَبُوءُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي، فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ

O Allah, You are my Lord. There is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I am holding to Your covenant and Your promise as much as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your blessings towards me and I admit my sins. Forgive me, for indeed, no one forgives sins except You.
