Dua for When Something Becomes Difficult — Prophet Musa's Supplication

Source: Quran 20:25-28

قَالَرَبِّاشْرَحْلِيصَدْرِيوَيَسِّرْلِيأَمْرِيوَاحْلُلْعُقْدَةًمِّنلِّسَانِييَفْقَهُواقَوْلِي

Transliteration

Qāla Rabbishraḥ lī ṣadrī wa yassir lī amrī waḥlul ʿuqdatam min lisānī yafqahū qawlī.

Translation

He said, 'My Lord, expand for me my breast [with assurance], and ease for me my task, and untie the knot from my tongue that they may understand my speech.'

Context

Prophet Musa (peace be upon him) made this profound supplication when Allah commanded him to go to Pharaoh and invite him to Islam. He sought Allah's help for inner strength, ease in his monumental mission, and clarity of speech to convey his message effectively.

Benefit

This dua teaches us to turn to Allah for inner peace and confidence when facing overwhelming challenges. It is a powerful invocation for seeking ease in our affairs and clarity in our communication, trusting that Allah will facilitate our tasks.

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I keep Your covenant and my pledge to You as best I can. I take refuge in You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin — so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.

Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and our offspring a comfort to our eyes, and make us leaders of the righteous.
