Quranic Dua for Protection from Shaytan's Whispers

Source: Quran 23:97-98

وَقُلرَّبِّأَعُوذُبِكَمِنْهَمَزَاتِالشَّيَاطِينِوَأَعُوذُبِكَرَبِّأَنيَحْضُرُونِ

Transliteration

Wa qul Rabbi a'oodhu bika min hamazaatish-shayaateeni wa a'oodhu bika Rabbi an yahduroon

Translation

And say, 'My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the evil suggestions of devils, and I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me.'

Context

This is a direct command from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ to seek refuge from the whispers and presence of Shaytan. It is a powerful reminder that even the best of creation sought Allah's protection against evil influences, encouraging believers to do the same.

Benefit

Reciting this dua provides a direct means of seeking Allah's divine shield against the insidious temptations and distractions that Shaytan uses to lead us astray.

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I keep Your covenant and my pledge to You as best I can. I take refuge in You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin — so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.

Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and our offspring a comfort to our eyes, and make us leaders of the righteous.
