أَنِّيمَسَّنِيَالضُّرُّوَأَنتَأَرْحَمُالرَّاحِمِينَ

Transliteration

Annee massaniya ad-durru wa anta arhamur-rahimeen

Translation

Affliction has touched me, and You are the Most Merciful of the merciful.

Context

Prophet Ayub (peace be upon him) was tested with severe illness and loss. In his deep suffering, he turned to Allah with this sincere plea, acknowledging Allah's mercy even in his hardship.

Benefit

This dua is a powerful expression of reliance on Allah during times of sickness or distress, recognizing His ultimate compassion and power to heal.

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I keep Your covenant and my pledge to You as best I can. I take refuge in You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin — so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.
