Translation
Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest, Allah is the greatest. How perfect He is, The One Who has placed this (transport) at our service, and we ourselves would not have been capable of that, and to our Lord is our final destiny. O Allah, we ask You for righteousness and piety in this journey of ours, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and bring its distance near. O Allah, You are The Companion on the journey and The Successor over the family. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the hardships of travel, from a sorrowful sight, and from an evil outcome regarding family and wealth. Upon returning, he would say these and add: We return, repentant, worshipping, and praising our Lord.
Context
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this supplication for when embarking on a journey. He would recite 'Allahu Akbar' three times, followed by the Quranic verse, and then the specific invocation for the journey. This shows the importance of acknowledging Allah's greatness and seeking His help before setting out.
