Seeking Refuge When Hearing Dogs Barking or Donkeys Braying at Night

((إِذَاسَمِعْتُمْنُبَاحَالْكِلاَبِوَنَهِيقَالْحَمِيرِبِاللَّيْلِفَتَعَوَّذُوابِاللَّهِمِنْهُنَّ؛فَإِنَّهُنَّيَرَيْنَمَالاَتَرَوْنَ)).

Transliteration
Idha sami'tum nubaha al-kilabi wa nahaqa al-hamiri fil-layli, fata'awwadhu billahi minhunna; fa innahunna yarayna ma la tarawn.
Translation
When you hear the barking of dogs or the braying of donkeys at night, seek refuge in Allah from them. This is because they see what you do not see.
Context
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ instructed Muslims to seek Allah's protection when hearing these sounds at night. He explained that animals often perceive unseen entities, making it a time when seeking refuge is particularly advised.
Benefit
This dua offers protection by acknowledging that unseen realities may be present at night, and by invoking Allah's name for safety.
