Translation
Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that he asked the Prophet ﷺ: 'O Messenger of Allah, I see bad dreams.' The Prophet ﷺ replied: 'That is from Satan; he frightens whomever he wishes. So, when any of you sees a bad dream which he dislikes, he should not tell it to anyone, but instead say: O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of Satan and from the evil of the dream itself.'
Context
Abu Salamah (may Allah be pleased with him) once asked the Prophet ﷺ about seeing bad dreams. The Prophet ﷺ explained that these are from Satan and taught him a specific supplication to recite when this happens.
Benefit
This dua offers protection from the distress caused by bad dreams, seeking Allah's refuge from Satan's influence and the dream's negativity.
