Morning — Hasbiyallahu La Ilaha Illa Huwa

حَسْبِيَاللَّهُلَاإِلَهَإِلَّاهُوَ،عَلَيْهِتَوَكَّلْتُ،وَهُوَرَبُّالْعَرْشِالْعَظِيمِ

Transliteration

Hasbiyallahu la ilaha illa huwa, alayhi tawakkaltu, wa huwa Rabbul-Arshil-Adheem

Translation

Allah is sufficient for me; there is no god but He. Upon Him I rely, and He is the Lord of the mighty Throne.

Context

This profound supplication, derived from the Holy Quran (Surah At-Tawbah 9:129) and affirmed in prophetic tradition (Sunan Abu Dawud 5081), encapsulates the essence of complete reliance upon Allah (Tawakkul). O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I keep Your covenant and promise as best I can.

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

We have reached the evening and at this very time the whole kingdom belongs to Allah. Praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner; to Him belongs the kingdom and all praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ، بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ، أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ، وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ

O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining, by Your mercy I seek help — rectify all of my affairs, and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye.
