When someone is rude while you are fasting

Transliteration

Innī ṣāʼimun, innī ṣāʼimun.

Translation

Indeed, I am fasting. Indeed, I am fasting.

Context

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this response to his Companions when provoked by someone while they were fasting. It is a gentle reminder to the other person, aiming to de-escalate the situation without engaging in conflict.

Benefit

This dua helps maintain the sanctity of the fast by avoiding arguments and anger. It encourages patience and a focus on the spiritual reward of fasting.

I acknowledge before You Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin — so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.
