Translation
If one of you is invited to a meal, he should accept the invitation. If he is fasting, he should pray for the host (meaning, make dua for him), and if he is not fasting, he should eat.
Context
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this etiquette to Muslims. When invited to a gathering where food is served, the fasting person should attend but not eat. Instead, they should make a prayer for the host and their family, asking Allah to bless them.
Benefit
This dua is a beautiful way to show appreciation for the host's generosity while respecting your fast. It fosters goodwill and strengthens community bonds.
When to Recite
When invited to a meal while fasting.
