Dua Upon Seeing the New Moon

اللهُأَكْبَرُ،اللَّهُمَّأَهِلَّهُعَلَيْنَابِالْأَمْنِوَالْإِيمَانِ،وَالسَّلَامَةِوَالْإِسْلَامِ،رَبِّيوَرَبُّكَاللَّهُ،هِلَالُرُشْدٍوَخَيْرٍ

Transliteration
Allahu akbar, Allahumma ahillahu 'alayna bil-amni wal-imani, was-salāmati wal-islāmi, Rabbī wa Rabbuka Allah, hilālu rushdin wa khairin.
Translation
Allah is the Greatest. O Allah, let it appear upon us with security and faith, and with safety and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah. It is a moon of guidance and goodness.
Context
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would recite this supplication upon sighting the new moon. This was a regular practice, marking the beginning of a new lunar month with remembrance of Allah and seeking His blessings.
Benefit
This dua seeks Allah's protection, steadfastness in faith and practice, and acknowledges Him as the Lord of all, including the celestial bodies.

Upon sighting the new moon at the beginning of the Islamic month.
