Dua for Healing — Allahumma Rabb an-Nas

أَذْهِبِالْبَأْسَ،رَبَّالنَّاسِ،وَاشْفِأَنْتَالشَّافِي،لاَشِفَاءَإِلاَّشِفَاؤُكَ،شِفَاءًلاَيُغَادِرُسَقَمًا.

Transliteration

Adhhibil-ba's, Rabb an-nas, washfi anta ash-Shafi, la shifa'a illa shifa'uka, shifa'an la yughadiru saqaman.

Translation

Remove the suffering, O Lord of mankind. Heal, for You are the Healer. There is no healing except Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness behind.

Context

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would recite this dua for himself or for someone afflicted with illness. He would wipe the affected area with his right hand while saying this.

Benefit

This supplication directly asks Allah for complete recovery, acknowledging His power as the sole Healer and seeking a cure that eradicates all traces of sickness.

When to Recite

When afflicted with any illness, reciting it and wiping the affected area.

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant. I keep Your covenant and my pledge to You as best I can. I take refuge in You from the evil I have done. I acknowledge before You Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin — so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.

Glory is to Him who has subjected this to us, and we ourselves were not capable. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.
