Morning and Evening Invocation for Well-being

((اللَّهُمَّعَافِنِيفِيبَدَنِي،اللَّهُمَّعَافِنِيفِيسَمْعِي،اللَّهُمَّعَافِنِيفِيبَصَرِي،لاَإِلَهَإِلاَّأَنْتَ.اللَّهُمَّإِنِّيأَعُوذُبِكَمِنَالْكُفْرِ،وَالفَقْرِ،وَأَعُوذُبِكَمِنْعَذَابِالقَبْرِ،لاَإِلَهَإِلاَّأَنْتَ))(ثلاثَمرَّاتٍ).

Transliteration

Allahumma 'afini fi badani, Allahumma 'afini fi sam'i, Allahumma 'afini fi basari, la ilaha illa anta. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-kufri wal-faqr, wa a'udhu bika min 'adhab al-qabr, la ilaha illa anta. (three times)

Translation

O Allah, grant my body health. O Allah, grant my hearing health. O Allah, grant my sight health. None has the right to be worshipped except You. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from disbelief and poverty, and I seek refuge with You from the punishment of the grave. None has the right to be worshipped except You.

Context

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this comprehensive supplication to his companions. He would say it three times in the morning and three times in the evening, seeking Allah's protection for his physical well-being, faith, and the afterlife.

Benefit

This dua encapsulates a profound request for holistic protection, covering physical health, spiritual soundness against disbelief and poverty, and refuge from the trials of the grave.

When to Recite

After the morning (Fajr) and evening (Asr) prayers, three times each.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ

O Allah, I take refuge in You from worry and grief, from helplessness and laziness, from cowardice and miserliness, and from being overcome by debt and overpowered by men.

Evening — Allahumma Anta Rabbi

اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَى عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُ

O Allah, You are my Lord, there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I keep Your covenant and promise as best I can.

Evening Remembrance — Amsayna wa Amsal-Mulku Lillah

أَمْسَيْنَا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

We have reached the evening and at this very time the whole kingdom belongs to Allah. Praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner; to Him belongs the kingdom and all praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.

Morning — Ya Hayyu Ya Qayyum

يَا حَيُّ يَا قَيُّومُ، بِرَحْمَتِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ، أَصْلِحْ لِي شَأْنِي كُلَّهُ، وَلَا تَكِلْنِي إِلَى نَفْسِي طَرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ

O Ever-Living, O Self-Sustaining, by Your mercy I seek help — rectify all of my affairs, and do not leave me to myself even for the blink of an eye.

I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion, and with Muhammad ﷺ as my Prophet.
