Funeral Prayer Supplication — Allahumma Abduka Wa-bn Amatik

((اللَّهُمَّعَبْدُكَوَابْنُأَمَتِكَاحْتَاجَإِلَىرَحْمَتِكَ،وَأَنْتَغَنِيٌّعَنْعَذَابِهِ،إِنْكَانَمُحْسِناًفَزِدْفِيحَسَنَاتِهِ،وَإِنْكَانَمُسِيئاًفَتَجَاوَزْعَنْهُ)).

Transliteration
Allahumma 'abdunka wa-bn 'amatika-htaaja ila rahmatika, wa anta ghaniyyun 'an 'adhabihi. In kaana muhsinan fa-zid fi hasanaatihi, wa in kaana musee'an fa-tajawaz 'anhu.
Translation
O Allah, Your servant and the son of Your female slave is in need of Your mercy. You are not in need of his punishment. If he was righteous, then increase his good deeds. If he was wicked, then overlook his sins.
Context
This supplication is recited by the Imam in the funeral prayer. It acknowledges the deceased's absolute dependence on Allah's mercy and Allah's complete independence from needing any punishment. The prayer asks for an increase in good deeds for the righteous and forgiveness for the sinful.
Benefit
This dua seeks Allah's immense mercy for the deceased, asking Him to reward their good deeds and forgive their shortcomings, offering comfort and hope to the bereaved.
